Always looking on the Google blog, making sure I don't miss the latest big thing... (i learned my lesson after having to realize Facebook was already on for a few years before I joined!)

I came accross this blog post, and realized how lucky I am to be married to Tatiana - for sure the most amazing woman from Paris alive!
je t'aime Tani!

Tjeko article in Park World

With great amazement did we read an article in Park World, a magazine for the Amusement Park Industry. Ralph Owen, the director of the magazine has done an amazing job writing this article! Many thanks for his input and his excitement for our project.

Enjoy reading!

Uganda thoughts

So - back at my desk in Holland. 48 hours of Uganda experiences. Crazy how fast that went by. But hey - what did I expect!
It was great to be surrounded by the children of 1moreChild for a little bit! Very exciting things are happening in Uganda.

Harry and Hen Ferdinando have been living in Jinja Uganda for 18+ months and have strengtened our 1moreChild team with a COMPLETE NEW DIMENTION to our program! As Bosco and I were always focussing on children that can still live with extended family, Harry and Hen are providing shelter for those boys that have NOTHING at all! 12 boys live together with a great mom, and a great 'older brother' in a home in Jinja. Close to school. Close to a soccer field :)

These boys get 3 meals a day, a bed, running water, a family.

We keep simple standards - nothing to draw attention to our home.

With the new project we took on, we now have 12 boys living in our 1mC home, and 50 boys and girls living in the Jinja District.

Our new direction also asks us to make some changes to the sponsor-program, but these changes will be good. They will allow us to support our orphans even on a much more personal level. Our next post will explain to you how things will run with the sponsorship program. We would love to add you as a sponsor too!

Some pics from Uganda

Here are a few quick pictures of the boys-house 1moreChild has started in September!

These boys are all street boys that dont have any family they could be staying with, so Harry and Hen (the newest members of 1moreChild) have started this house just a couple of months ago! The total of children that 1moreCHild sponsors is now of 62. And 12 of them live in this house, where they can experience a bit of a normal family structure. 1 mentor and 1 'mother' live with them - and honnestly - the boys seem to completely love it! They are now all in school, have all inproved their accademic performance, and are all motivated to give their best. Last night Harry and I met until 1am to discuss HOW we could get more people involved, and how we could communicate better what is happening with 1moreChild. I have been saying it for a while, but you will see a brand new website soon, where you can find everything you need to know about those amazing boys and girls we're able to help.

A toothbrush missing

Well we have a toothbrush missing in our bathroom not because we lost it but simply because Ferdi is in Uganda for the week-end.
A friend of us is a stewardess and somehow Ferdi was able to go along with her to Uganda... Not only did he got a really good price on his ticket but he was also traveling Business class... Pretty nice right! :-P
He has a full schedule ahead of him with some key few people to meet
Please keep him in your prayers

We surely do miss him around though...
Today "SinterKlaas" (St Nicholas) is arriving in Holland so Maelle and I are buzy... watching TV lol
May you all have a great week-end

So here are some pics we took to get that 'perfect family picture'.
How do people do that?! It took us 1,5 hours! Haha! Gotta love taking pictures with a 2 year old!
Thanks Els for your great work! It was fun!

Coffee with handicaped friends!

So fun! Once in a while you get to do something out of the ordinary! (well - ta and i get to do thosse things quite often). Today I arranged to do a COFFEE TESTING / TASTING session with a group of mentaly hanicaped guys! SO FUN! This will happen on Thursday November 19 in the center of Gouda.
We need to decide WHICH coffee these guys are going to serve in their OWN cafe! This cafe will be on the market in Gouda - an other top location for our top coffee!

Too bad there is no website of this caffee yet, because I would have loved to give you the link. It's going to be next Thursday the 19th. I'll be sure to make some pictures. The team of Kaars Koffie loves doing this kind of 'different' projects. Won't gain us any money - but I'm sure a lot of good memories for us and the guys that we'll be tasting with.
